Summary:
This PIL was filed for the enforcement of statutory duty of the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Rural Odisha. Among other things, it prayed for the Court to direct the government to take immediate steps to establish ICU/Ventilators, isolation facilities, RTPCR Test Facility, paediatric COVID care centre at the district, block and panchayat levels; address the lack of medical infrastructure and trained personnel (ASHA/Anganwadi workers); provide essential medications and adequate transport/ambulance facilities etc.
