PIL Case Details

This petition has been filed by the members of the Konark Dalit Photographers and Guides Welfare Trust, who work at the Sun Temple, Konark. It challenges the selection criteria for minimum educational qualification prescribed as Matriculate/10th pass, and the limitation of the number of photographers inside the Sun Temple to 68 persons, as notified by the Archaeological Survey of India, Union of India. It also challenges the action of the Tourism Department, Government of Odisha, of disallowing any photogra pher from entering the Sun Temple since 06.03.2023.
