PIL Case Details

This PIL was filed challenging the inaction on the part of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha, by not providing adequate medical treatments and services to the paediatric patients in Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paediatrics (Sishu Bhawan), Cuttack. The petitioner poin ted out the specific inactions of not undertaking the construction of patient Attendant Facility Centre, non - opening of Casualty Department for treatment of serious paediatric patients immediately as well as the non - appointment sufficient number of doctors and other staffs in the said institute. Through the order dated 19 th July 2022, an updated report was filed by the Advocates Committee. Counsel for respondents stated that this report would be examined, and that corrective action as pointed out therein sh all be taken, and a compliance report shall be submitted by the next date. On 5 th September 2022, a compliance report filed by Respondent No. 3 was taken into record, 2pursuant to order dated 19 th July 2022.
