Born on January 28, 1945. He was enrolled as an Advocate in 1975 and practised mainly in the Gauhati High Court. He was appointed Advocate General of Tripura in 1988. Elevated as Judge of Gauhati High Court on 14.11.1991, Transferred to Calcutta High Court on 3.10.1997 and the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court from 9.4.2003 - 21.1.2007.
