Born at Dhenkanal on 19-10-1904, educated at Dhenkanal School, Ravenshaw College and Patna College and finally passed his B.L. Examination in 1931, whereafter he joined the Bar. After Serving in various capacities in the Ex-State areas, he, after merger served as District Judge at Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts during the years 1948 to 1959.

He served as the Judge of Orissa High Court from 10.11.1959 - 10.11.1961.
