Shri Lalit Kumar Mishra, son of Shri Gopabandhu Mishra was born on 25.06.1955 at village Jarasingha in the District of Bolangir. After completing education upto 11th class in the year 1968 from N.B.High School, Jarasingha, obtained his B.A. degree from Rajendra College, Bolangir in the year 1973. Obtained Master’s degree in Political Science from P.G.Department of Political Science, Jyoti Vihar, Burla, in the year 1975. Obtained LL.B. degree from L.R.Law College, Sambalpur, in the year 1976. Obtained LL.M. degree from P.G. Department of Law (Utkal University), Vani Vihar, in the year 1979. Joined District Bar, Bolangir, on 05.01.1981.
During practice, conducted cases in civil and criminal matters on the original and appellate side. Served as A.P.P. from 1986 to 1990. Also rendered services as Honourary Lecturer in Bolangir Law College.
Joined as 1st Additional District and Sessions Judge, Berhampur on 26.07.1993 on direct recruitment to the cadre of Orissa Superior Judicial Service (Senior Branch). Thereafter, served as Additional District and Sessions Judge, Bhardrak, District and Sessions Judge, Koraput-Jeypore, Judicial Member, Orissa Sales Tax Tribunal, District and Sessions Judge, Dhenkanal, 2nd Additional Legal Remembrancer-cum-Additional Secretary to Government, Law Department and Presiding Officer, State Education Tribunal. Joined as District and Sessions Judge, Balasore-Bhadrak, Balasore on 14.08.2007. Was elevated to the Bench on 17.01.2008.
