Born on 1st August, 1918, Hon’ble Justice Shri Sachidananda Acharya was enrolled as a Pleader in the year 1945, and after practising in the District Court at Chaibassa in the Singhbhum District of Bihar, he was enrolled as an Advocate of the Patna High Court on the 15th January, 1951 and shifted his legal practice to Cuttack when he was enrolled in the Orissa High Court on 16-3-1951.
He was intimately connected with the teaching of Law in the Madhusudan Law College at Cuttack in the capacity of Law Lecture for twelve years. He was a member of the Senate and board of studies of the Utkal University for some years. He was a member of the Governing Body of the Law College, and also of the Utkal University Sports Working Committee. He was the Secretary of the High Court Bar Association for more than three years.
He served as the Judge of Orissa High Court from 6.5.1968- 31.7.1980.
